What is included in my rental?
Are the batteries new?
Not necessarily. We check outgoing batteries to make sure they have at least half their power in them and will of course replace them if they are very low but do not wish to throw away batteries with significant life left in them. We recycle our dead batteries.
Where is my Doppler?
Your Doppler will be sent out via Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Delivery. This service is usually very prompt but on occasion can take up to 5 working days to arrive. If it has not reached you within a week, please email us to let us know and we can instruct you on what to do next.
How long can I rent for?
The minimum rental period is one month and you are under no obligation to keep the Doppler for longer than this. You can return it at any time and your agreement will be ended as soon as we receive it back. We will contact you approaching the end of your monthly rental period to give you the option of paying for a further months rental.
How long and from when does the month actually run for?
The month runs from the date of dispatch and we add on an extra day at the end of the rental to allow for transit time. If you experience a significant delay in receiving it (through postal delays), inform us and we can extend the rental.
I want to cancel my Rental Agreement
Following delivery of the Fetal Doppler, you have 7 working days to cancel the agreement. If you wish to do so, please inform us in writing. On receiving the returned goods (unused and in original condition) we will provide a refund, minus a £10 administration fee.
Should you wish to return the Fetal Doppler at any time after the initial week's cancellation period, we must receive notification at least one week prior to the date when the next monthly payment is due and the Doppler must be returned to us before the next payment date. Please return it via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery and keep the tracking number so that you have protection in case the Doppler goes astray in the post.
I have missed a payment
If for any reason, we do not receive payment for any given month's rental, and you have not cancelled and returned the monitor to us in its original condition, we shall inform you either by email, telephone or letter. Please contact us as soon as possible if your circumstances mean that you shall be unable to pay or return the Doppler by the correct date. If payment remains outstanding for more than two months and we do not receive the Doppler back, the rental agreement will terminate, and we will authorise our collections company to commence proceedings against you to recover monies owed and the monitor. You will be liable for all costs incurred in this process and a mandatory £10 administration fee.
How will you contact me?
If we need to get in touch at any time it will be by phone, letter or email. Please make sure that your contact email address and phone number are correct at the time you start your rental. If we do not have these details, dispatch of your Doppler may be delayed. If your details change at any time during the rental, please inform us.
Condition of the Goods
Hi-baby.co.uk makes every effort to ensure that your Doppler will reach you in excellent condition. We shall replace any units that do not reach you in such condition. Likewise, If the unit is returned to us damaged by accident or misuse, you will be liable for the repair or replacement costs. If the item is lost or stolen, you will be charged the full retail price for the unit.
Do I pay to return my doppler?
Yes, we do ask that you pay the cost of the return postage. This enables us to keep the cost of the rental as low as possible. Cost to return via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery is just under £3.
I want to return my doppler
We require the Doppler back either on or before the return date that we state on your letter. Further payments mean that this date will be extended and if you are not sure when this is, please check with us.
To return the Fetal Doppler at any time, please keep the original packaging that it was received it, use the enclosed return labels and post the unit via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery.
I have lost the packaging and do not have the returns address label
No problem, just package it securely and post it to the following address via Royal Mail recorded delivery to:

IMPORTANT: After posting the Doppler please keep the tracking number so that if it goes astray in the post we can make a claim against Royal Mail. If you do not do this, you will be liable for the replacement cost of the unit.
